N. 1 The Guarene Castle: a timeless epitome of elegance.

One of the most stunning castles in the Langhe is the Guarene Castle, which is a Relais & Chateaux complex.
It was Carlo Giacinto Roero, the lord of Guarene’s, realization of a dream in the 18th century; today, with all of its original artwork still present, it has evolved into a luxurious hotel. Its sumptuous old‑style bedrooms, haute cuisine, great wines and modern wellness technology have allied themselves with history to provide its guests a unique experience.
The indoor rooms are perfect to host special events such as a wedding, gifting the couple with an unforgettable and exclusive experience in one of the milestones of the Baroque itinerary in Piedmont. In the heart of the Roero, its balcony overlooks more than 60 kilometres of UNESCO territory: you can see the Langhe from Asti almost all the way to Barolo via Barbaresco; you can even make out the Monferrato, as well as a large portion of the Alps arc.
Moreover, the castle’s Italian‑style gardens will leave your guests breathless, even on a fine autumn day seeing that they will be able to enjoy a welcome drink there, before entering the elegant and sumptuous halls. The scenic arrangement of hornbeam espaliers, pinnacle‑shaped Taxus and cypress trees cleverly multiplies the small space available. Chronicles tell of the presence of five peacocks in ancient times ‑ a strange fact for the time and the area. On the lower level, on the side of the castle facing the Tanaro valley and Barbaresco, there is another formal garden, known as the ‘Maneggio’, where low hornbeam hedges delimit flowerbeds of different geometric shapes, arranged symmetrically with respect to the central axis of the garden. Recent renovations have restored the garden to its original splendour.
A gorgeous location, ideal for your unique fall wedding!

N. 2 MISE EN PLACE: Candlelight and warm tones

Given that nature is in full colour explosion mode throughout the autumn, it makes for one of the ideal seasons for flower displays. We advise choosing warm and inviting tones like rust, old pink, and gold.

Furthermore, whereas a fall wedding must be arranged indoors, the lighting in the space should be cozy and romantic. Our recommendation: candles all over the table!
The wedding decorations, mainly the setup of the table, were inspired by nature itself and the colours and materials it contains. The typical tints of the fall season such as brown, red, yellow and orange can be combined with each other and matched with a simple white tablecloth, always classic and refined, or with colours such as sugar paper or burgundy according to personal taste. If one has a lovely wooden table at their disposal, they can keep it bare for an even more natural effect.
We suggest the use of seasonal fruits and flowers, such as pomegranate, chestnuts, and hazelnuts, as well as natural materials like leaves for the mise en place assemble. Candles, both traditional white or of seasonal shades, can enhance the space of your venue, giving it a soft, refined look.
Always choose seasonal flowers, which are easier to find, store and work with. But what are the typical flowers of the autumn months? Dahlias, with their bright colours and intense fragrance; sunflowers, whose warm, intense colour reminds you of sunlight and brings joy; zinnias, which are found in nature in many different variations and shades of colour; hydrangeas, which are large and scenic; or asters, plants with flowers resembling delicate coloured daisies, which when gathered in smaller or larger bunches create a spectacular effect. Also for the bouquets, make the most of the warm and elegant colours of the season and dare with dark shades such as red, burgundy or amaranth, without forgetting a touch of green, dried vine leaves, entwined branches and small fruits, for a unique result.

N. 3 STYLE EDUCATION: Fall is perfect for a mikado choice

Brides should carefully consider the venue and wedding style when selecting their gown, in addition to the flair of dress they had always envisioned wearing. Additionally, seasons have to be taken into consideration. In fact, it is recommended to use light gowns with less stiff fabrics in hotter seasons to enable the bride to fully enjoy the day while also looking stunning. On the other hand, we may definitely favour heavier and more structured materials like mikado in the fall, especially if they come together with long sleeves.
The Mikado is an ancient silk processing technique, originally from Japan, back in fashion among the 2022 wedding dress trends. It never ceases to amaze with its light and elegant characteristics and perfect fit. Mikado wedding dresses are wedding gowns designed so that the fabric is much stiffer, structured and defined. The success of mikado as one of the most popular fabrics for brides depends not only on the beauty of these garments, but also for their adaptability to different body shapes. It fits well and minimises every flaw, giving a timeless elegance to the bride.

N. 4 Waves, knots, swirls…

Mikado is a fine fabric whose texture, not as soft and flowing as chiffon, has enabled designers to produce wedding dress models with distinctive, bold, even artistic shapes. It is a particularly bright and shiny fabric and for this very reason makes the semi‑rigid structures of the gowns even more beautiful, appearing as true ‘architectures’, creations of great impact. Among various proposals of the 2023 collections of many designers, there are dresses that use mikado both to define the lines of the skirts, wide and supported, and to form impressive details such as knots and full‑bodied bows.
Waves, knots, swirls, even large and voluminous details manage to remain defined and firm, giving the gowns scenographic features that enhance and valorise every type of physique: their perfect drape does not wrap the silhouette and manages to boost the harmony of the lines. Thanks to silk mikado, it is also possible to make dresses with a very simple structure, in a minimal chic style, which however have the gift of giving the wearer an allure of great elegance and originality.
Generally speaking, this particular silk weave is ideal also for all off shoulder necklines that do not need supports and braces.

N. 5 Designer of the month…

Elisabetta Delogu: a passion for painting and a sewing machine

Elisabetta Delogu is an artist, not just a designer. You only have to look at one of her dresses to understand this: her wedding dresses look like sculptures or paintings on precious fabrics.
Antique lace, precious fabrics, silk organza, tulle, flanking hand‑embroidered shantung, the unusual sartorial constructions ‑ such as cascades of pleats, a riot of light lace, sensual transparencies, flower shoots delicately caressing the neckline and waistline – underline her distinguished creativity and translates it into a style of timeless charm.
Her creations are suitable for those who are not looking for the classic white dress, but for something exclusive that makes them feel both exceptional and comfortable. Every woman is unique, so her dress must be too. This is how Elisabetta describes her ideal bride, rich in details and nuances with which she emphasises purity, sensuality and beauty.
The 2022 collection of gowns designed by the artist features the usual precious fabrics ‑ taffeta, tulle, silk organza, chiffon, lace ‑ juxtaposed and united, building a harmony of notes, each with its own timbre: silk organza dresses ranging from white to pale pink with embroidered coloured flowers and embellished with crystal and sequin appliquΓ©s. With or without sleeves, with chaste or daring necklines, in lace or silk, the bodice is the protagonist, in some cases born separate from the skirt and can be worn separately.
These wedding dresses are suitable for women of all ages, from the youngest to the most mature, because beauty has no age.

In general, the breath of optimism and freshness can be perceived in the collective mood, but also on the dresses of the glamorous, sustainable, elegant, romantic or seductive models. It is no coincidence that the new 2022 collections convey strength, energy and courage ‑ peculiarities inherent in nature and its elements.
Between conformations and novelties, the season opens with some bridal trends that will accompany us next year, like the abundance of short dresses, the use of new fabrics and 3D decorations, plunging necklines and slits, mikado bows and sleeves, and the pantsuit and trouser wedding dress.
